Too often I totally forget about this blog. I really do. xP And well. It's probably about time I draw my main header pic on this blog with smooootthh lineart instead of some of the sketches up there that are sketchy. :P

The "Metaru" story is about half way done in the editing process and I HOPE to finish it by tomorrow with hard HARD work but it'll probably be more like....a few days from now. We'll see. ;) But it should definitely be done by the 20th of May as planned! ^^

And after that we'll have a fricken party on DA or something! :D Or a contest with great prizes to celebrate the story that will FINALLY be drawn out!!! I can't wait! ^^

Dude, real life can take up SOOO much of a person's time. So busy right now that I don't have time for writing my "Metaru" story, or to draw much, or even to just surf the web for fun or talk to people online which I LOVE doing. Oh well, college is important after all. College is the main reason right now that I don't have time for anything anymore if not the whole reason.

Working more on the publishing part of my comic

Right now I'm working through the process of trying to find a publisher for my comic "Metaru" I was thinking Tokyopop at first but it might be someone else now. Especially since they're not open to submissions at this time they said....after I e-mailed them yesterday.

I'll either check back with them later or try a different publisher. And I need to actually work on the first 3 chapters of the story since according to my brother that's about how much you hand in if you want a book to be published. I'm not sure what the deal is with comic books though they might want the WHOLE story handed in or something...I really don't know :/ ...in fact...I'm not even sure whether I have to draw up the whole comic or whether someone else would do it which is a BIG thing.

I think at this point I'd rather someone else actually draw up the comic as long as they don't butcher my characters' appearances too much. But I also don't know if I have to pay for all that or whether TokyoPop would pay for that....to get it all drawn. I asked them these questions but they just answered telling me that they're not open to submissions now because of the economy... :/

So yeah...it's really to bad they're not open to them right now. But I've heard some grim stuff about that company also that I need to look into first. I have a few articles bookmarked about them and how bad they are I guess? That I need to read over first....after all...I don't want them to do anything bad to my story or characters ):

Gonna try to work on the comic a lot this month....as well as make some gift-art for people for Christmas o3o I think I'm going to TRY to get like...a good chunk of the story for my comic "METARU" done because I get like a whole month off for Christmas XD I'm done for college for a while in about 2 weeks from now...so that's when I'll be working on it real good ;3 That's all the news I have. I haven't really had ANY time in this whole YEAR even to work on the actual story for the comic so...this will be a good opportunity. :P

Hmmm...so I guess I'm going to attempt to go on a diet again but this time I dead serious about it and I promised myself not to quit until I get to my desired weight X___x so...for about 2-3 weeks I'll be in hell. But it will ALL be worth it! ;D Here we go! Maybe I'll write a journal later to tell you all how I'm doing so far.

Oh God, I've gained like 5 pounds in the last few weeks....Honestly I've never felt more sure about trying to starve myself again X____x I don't think I'll eat anything tomorrow except a few pieces of fruit or something )X Maybe I'll try to keep myself busy by forcing myself to read ALL day like....literally...and maybe I'll actually get something done one of these days too...sorry for sounding so emo but I kinda feel that way now XP

Ahh, clean my bedroom for the most part. ^___^ So now I can actually move and not feel so claustrophobic too X____x I took some time today to actually sketch out 4 full pages of the comic 8D But....those are also JUST sketches >> so I've got a lot of work to do. Eh....not much else to talk about. :P

Hey guys!! If you haven't seen my latest journal entry on DA well I'm already getting WAYY over excited about my comic "Metaru". I guess mainly because I didn't know until quite recently that it was actually possible to get something like that published easily. And that has been my DREAM. When I was making the story and characters for this comic a LONG time ago and just brainstorming to myself I was always thinking "Oh, it would be SOOO cool if this ever became a movie or a comic book...oh, but that would NEVER happen..." So you can imagine my surprise...yeah XD I'm pretty darn excited about it! And then I found a website that allows you to make custom t-shirts, posters and shit. It's seriously a DREAM come true. I think I've changed my decision about SOMEthing though and that's kinda about who I want to publish it to or whatever. At first I was excited and enthusiastic enough about just getting the comic in my hands whether anybody else in the world knew about it or not because I'm in LOVE with my characters and my story...but I think I'm actually going to make JUST publishing it my plan "Z" if you will. I wanted to try and get other comic book publishing companies' attention first and at least TRY and see if maybe TokyoPop, or Viz Media, or some other big production could get me a little more public. If they don't accept my comic then of COURSE I'll be doing the copyright and publishing on my own which I'd be fine with but who WOULDN'T want their comic well known because companies like freakin' Tokyopop decide to put their logo on your comic book. I could get a LOT more money that way and a lot more people around the WORLD that would know about it as oppose to just the small percentage of people on DeviantART.com

Heya guys! It's me Metaru! ^___^ I'm at college right now; on their libraries' computer. My internet had trouble this morning so I sure hope it doesn't go out for like a week again. I had that happen before with my Comcast thingy. It really sucked. ): I have Japanese 101 at 1:00 and now it's 11:38, so I still have a lot of time to waste. I had an exam in Psychology today and it was the very first one I've had this year; I hope I got a good grade on it. My guess would be that I got a B or something, because I knew most of the material but some things I just wasn't positive about. Hopefully I can find some time to start sketching out the new 1st page of my comic. I'd really like to get that comic going again as soon as possible but I'm also quite busy so who knows when it will get done.

Yay! I have finally redone the cover of my graphic novel "METARU"! :D Here's what it looks like now! I may redo the title later though because I want the title to be very unique and special but for now I think it looks pretty good! ;3 I'm going to try my best to find time work out at least sketching some of the comic pages soon but with college ya just never know XD I think I'll start posting everything that I post on Deviantart also on here since I'm sure there are some people that like to just kinda blog and such and don't want to have to get a DA account to comment or something like that? I dunno XD

Good Animation Books/Drawing Books

For a long time now I've renting piles and piles of books on animation, drawing, and lots of other art improving type things. These are some books I found very great!!!!

GOOD 2D ANIMATION BOOKS

1. The Animator's Workbook by Tony White is really great because there's so much jam-packed information in there! And it's the kind you'll actually need to know if you want to be a 2D Animator.

2. The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams was a big book! I didn't quite finish it lol but it has so much information in it. I think it's the best animation book out there honestly. It has a lot of examples of how to do animation the right way and it also shows some examples as well about how NOT to animate things. This book has a lot of quotes and discussion in it from famous Disney animators such as Milt Kahl, Frank Thomas, and Ken Harris.

3. The Animation Bible by Maureen Furniss was another big book, but with plenty of examples. It had examples of claymation and 3D animation in it as well as 2D Animation. It went through the whole process of making an animation and all the long processes that go with it.

I've yet to check out some of the other great animation books out there. I couldn't find them at my local library or throught a system called PrarieCat that my library uses to get books from other libraries. I may have to just buy them to check them out I guess. XD

GOOD DRAWING BOOKS

1. I draw animals a lot and if you do too then you might want to get Drawing Wildlife by J. Amberlyn. It shows how to draw many animals in wildlife such as wolves, bears, deer, racoons, and many other animals.

GOOD PAINTING BOOKS

1. A great book for if you want to learn how to paint animals traditionally is Wildlife Painting Basics: Wolves, Foxes, & Coyotes by Jan Martin McGuire. It also shows good techniques for textures in the background and such.

I may add more here later......I'm kinda tired right now though XD

College and Summer

Dude, I am SOO happy now that I've graduated!!! I can finally move on and do more than the stupid things that school forced me to do. I want to take some classes that will actually be beneficial to me for once....like 2D Animation *_____* I can't wait to take that class......I know it will probably be real tough...as will probably all the other classes, but I really want to learn something new. It turns out though that I won't be going to college until fall. I planned on starting right away in the summer ): But I guess I can't now.

Well, this summer I'm still going to try to learn a lot though :3 I'm going to start drawing more humans and other animals that I've never drawn before for practice. I'm really hoping to get some good critique from some of the people that view my art.
